The <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Airline\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. airline industry<\/a> discards enough aluminum cans every year to build nearly 58 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boeing_747\">Boeing 747s<\/a> and enough paper to fill a football field\u2013size hole 230 feet deep\u2014that\u2019s 4,250 tons of aluminum and 72,250 tons of paper.
